We were approached early in 2022 by the school who tasked us with the complete overhaul of the CCTV setup. Over the years, various stakeholders had added their own version of what they thought best and had left the school with a fractured, clique-y solution which consisted of both Dahua and Hikvision cameras of various specification and ages, on a real mish-mash of recorders. This left the site team able only to access certain cameras and areas of the system – not great for something so important to a modern-day school.

Replacing all the old Hikvision cameras for Dahua so there was consistency, running in a host of new cables with cameras to fill blind spots and bringing in two additional Dahua recorders; we migrated all the cameras on the sprawling site into a fresh topology which was accessible in its entirety and split over three NVR’s as a fail-safe (if one recorder fails – there are still cameras working elsewhere).

Now, the school have a fully fit-for-purpose setup with AI capability which is easy to navigate for the site team.

For such a big site, this really was a labour of love for us. However, the satisfaction from the results more than justified this.
