It’s May – already. This year is flying by faster than a megabyte down a copper cable.
The year started in a quietly positive mood. With the shadow of global events lurking over our shoulders, we turned our backs and stiff-upper-lipped our way through a surprisingly mild winter muttering something like “maybe if we ignore it, it will go away…”
Spring stuck its’ pretty little head above the parapet and there was the annual renewed sense of hope brought with it. The promise of new life, a new harvest, better weather, and chocolate eggs. We dared to dream of a simple life, without the shackles of worry. The dream was short lived however and the papers soon had something else to write about on an international scale.
In this period of uncertainty, seemingly stretching back for years now rather than months, taking a peek through a window of the world projecting genuine adversity and real-life strife, to put into context the relatively insignificant, ‘1st world problems’ of not being able to get hold of stuff quite as easily as back in the halcyon days of 2019. I will take that any day of any week, all through the four seasons and beyond, over what millions of people have had to and are still having to deal with, for various reasons since then.
So, as the promise of spring looks on and spots the joys of summer doing a happy dance on the not- so-distant horizon, we thank our lucky stars to be happy and healthy and still in business – going strong. Here’s to you and cheers to that!
