We talk about it all the time. It is an absolute classic in the (admittedly quite niche) world of Primary School Hall AV setups. So much so that it was in danger of becoming a caricature of itself . A tired trope, an archetype resigned to gentle mockery and satirical ribbing.
But then, along came the ultimate example in the wild. A real-life, as we live and breathe, mint-condition-still-new-in-wrapper, VG+ no marks plays beautifully, one for the true collectors.

An iPod docking station deck, incredibly – a pair of Numark CD DJ mixing decks, an 18 channel mixer hidden under a big piece of perspex so you can’t get to it – a million everythings with a big fat nothing-works thrown in. None of it had ever been used, and it would have cost the school thousands.
Needless to say, it all got taken away and is as good as bin fodder. The good news is that the school now has a fit-for-purpose, simple to operate PA system which does only the things they want.
The legend lives on!
